The Sexy Beast Auction benefits Planned Parenthood. Founded by a group of artists and thinkers, the annual auction is based upon the ethos that "giving back" is not only commendable and important, but also sexy--and sexy, as we know, is a subjective way of existing and feeling in the world.

This year, the list of contributing artists is diverse and exceptional. Works have been donated by Dwyer Kilcollin, Jasper Johns, Sterling Ruby, Ed Ruscha, Robert Mapplethorpe, Theodora Allen, Larry Bell, Barbara Kruger, and Paul McCarthy. The event is hosted by a group of Los Angeles-based gallery owners, consultants, and art enthusiasts, has been attended by supporters including Jack Black and Diane Keaton, and is sponsored by individuals and organizations such as Jenny Holzer, NADA (New Art Dealers), and Artforum.

The auction will be held on September 10 from 6:30PM - 10:30PM at the historic Theatre at Ace Hotel in downtown Los Angeles, comprised of both a silent auction and a live auction.

Access to safe, high quality, affordable health services should be a human right-- and each year in Los Angeles, over 150,000 women, men, and teenagers rely on Planned Parenthood for reproductive healthcare and education, including cancer screenings and STD tests. Tickets to this event are available here!
