Halloween is near and it's one of our favorite holidays! If you've yet to make plans for the Haunted Evening, have no fear--we've selected seven picks from the far reaches of the globe-- have a scary and wonderful Halloween!

In Nashville on October 24 you can explore Andrew Jackson's former abode by candlelight! The mansion was built in the early nineteenth century and looks very much the same. The night is hosted by living historians, who pepper their historical narrations with spooky noises!

Concurrently on the evening on the 24, you can view the official parade of the city of New Orleans--and watch as papier-mâché floats, headless horsemen, and angry clowns march through the streets of the Vieux Carre.

Over the course of the month, Philadelphia's Laurel Hill Cemetery hosts a series of haunted events, beginning with an interactive murder mystery and interspersed with candlelit tours of the grounds.

Meanwhile, in Savannah, on all Friday and Saturday evenings of October, The Davenport House Museum presents an event titled, "Stranger than Fiction: An Exploration of the Extraordinary In Old Savannah." During the performances, ghosts of Savannah residents from the 1820s discuss their beliefs about death, the supernatural, and culture.

Each year in Derry, Ireland, over 50,000 Halloween fanatics dressed in costumes (many of which are handmade) take to the town's square--which includes a 17th-century walled-in city within a city--for a weekend of fireworks and carnival parades.

Kentucky’s Louisville Zoo throws an annual Halloween Party, at which you can trick-or-treat alongside zebras, bears, giraffes, and leopards and ride the trains that travel through the park. Not very scary, but pretty cute.

In London, you can visit graveyards and the sites of famed murder stories on an a walk with author of Haunted London. Perhaps the most notable murder that's explored is the murder of Queen Isabella--also known as the the She-Wolf of France--at an old churchyard.

In Los Angeles, at The Last Bookstore on October 21, Richard Carradine and members of Planet Paranormal and North Orange Paranormal are hosting an investigatory panel on some of the most haunted places in Southern California.
